Avoid these no matter how cheap they are October 21, 2008 CosmicBob (Florida) This product doesn't even deserve one star. About half of these plastic discs of garbage were defective. I gave up on them after trying 30 to 40 of them. Other media on the same DVD burners had no problems. It took me 2 weeks and 12 phone calls and over 1.5 hours on the phone to find someone who would claim to support them. Their only offer was for me to ship them back at my expense and then they would replace only the defective ones. It would cost me more for this option than to throw them away. Don't buy HP DVDs!
Hewlett Packard 16X 100/pack 4.7GB DVD-R September 15, 2008 Mike Lay (ok) this is the only dvd's i have found for my jvc dvd rec. vcr combo that does not shut down when rec. ans start reloading.
I love this DVD brand August 12, 2008 Wolverine (Imperial, CA, USA) Well, I have bought 3 spindles of HP DVD-R, and NONE of the discs have come with errors. I have used Verbatim, Maxell, Sony, Memorex, TDK, and HP; in my experience I can say that TDK and HP are the best. Verbatim, Maxell, Sony, and Memorex, all of them have had discs that didn't work, but the worst of them are Maxell and Verbatim. So, I plan to buy 3 spindles of this HP DVDs discs, they're the best brand I have used.
Good DVDs Good Price, with the right burner May 11, 2007 Pokeberry Farm Boy (Southern US) I've burned over 400 of these HP DVDs in the past year and have had fewer than 5 "coasters" out of the lot. All of these came from burning them in a Sony DVD Recorder. I've never had a single bad burn with this brand using the burner in a G5 Mac. In my experience some DVDs don't work well with some burners. Some brands work well in the Sony and not on the Mac. If the only burner I had were the Sony I'd think these were bad DVDs too, but in the Mac burner they are flawless. HOWEVER, these HP DVDs ship from TIGERDIRECT and they ruined an entire 50-pack spindle by POOR PACKING. Whoever packed my order made no attempt to put any sort of packing material in the box. Spindles of DVDs were simply placed in a large cardboard box and it was taped shut. One of the spindles broke apart spilling DVDs inside the box scratching them so badly they were unusable. This is potentially a serious problem and possibly a reason to avoid this brand unless you can find another supplier, or unless you're willing to deal with TigerDirect customer service.
Good deal March 8, 2007 J. Koloff (Chicago, IL) Great product, dependable with few errors if any at all. Nearly half the price on Amazon as at Best Buy.
